Halloween fell on a Sunday this year, and as the evening approached I decided to visit Austin’s Hyde Park neighborhood. I’d seen some creative yard displays in years past but I did not realize that there are certain blocks there that throw their decor game into overdrive for the day proper.
Here are pics of some yard displays I found biking around the blocks bounded by 45th Street to the north, 38th to the south, Duval to the east and Guadalupe to the west. I’m certain there are many cool yards I missed, and there is certainly more to the Hyde Park neighborhood than those boundaries.
If you live in the neighborhood please feel free to share a link to this post with your neighbors, by email, nextdoor, facebook, or any other means. If I can help these creative folk revel in some pride in their displays I will have fulfilled my best hopes for this fun afternoon tour.
